Day Four - Bozeman Montana to Jackson Wyoming

Two national parks in one day - could we do it? Well, the early going was a bit rough!

Just kidding.  After a great breakfast at Jam we left the comforts of the Lark and headed east and then - under threatening skies - down to Gardiner at the gateway to Yellowstone.

We bought an annual pass as we have quite a few parks to go through on this trip.

Once inside we stopped at Mammoth Hot Springs where we also met a moulting buffalo.

Backtracking slightly we decided to do the 'reverse S' starting off at Tower Roosevelt. The hotel had suggested this way round and it was beautiful but they didn't mention the road went up to 9,000 ft.  We assumed the snow tire advisories were for a different time of year, but......

Luckily no snow on the road but we were wondering just how much more it would go up.

Spectacular scenery along the road.

We crossed from the east side to the west part way down and saw wonderful herds of Buffalo.

We stopped in at Old Faithful for lunch. We missed the geyser but the lodge there is an absolutely spectacular wood building.

From there we rolled further south out of Yellowstone and straight into the Grand Teton national park. Again, such beautiful mountains and lakes.

At the end of park we came to Jackson and our stop for the night. Jackson is a total western town as well as a big ski area. We got a cabin for the night and walked in to the town center for dinner.

Just as we got back to the cabin it started to rain finally. Let's get this all done tonight and enjoy a ride down to Park City, Utah tomorrow where we meet up with Andy and Eleanor!
